I drew far less than I wanted to during the holidays, but I'm going to make up for it. I have a goal of 31 sketches in January! Here's a dump of some November and December sketches for now.
I started a sketch in the wee hours of the night because I didn't have to work the next day due to the storm we were expecting. I stayed up all night drawing and listening to Christmas music. Pretty perfect. I wrote "These boxes of ornaments have been out for a few days and I wanted to decorate tonight, but I just can't get into it when there are patio chairs hanging out next to the tree. The chairs are sleeping in the house tonight so they won't die in the storm. It's supposed to be the worst we've seen in years. When I looked out the window at 6am, the neighbor's trash can was still standing upright...what a disappointment."

I think there might be too much going on here. If I could redo it, I think I'd leave out the wood grain on the cabinets. I do like the cartoony look though! I seem to get this "style" when I draw with a brush pen.
I'm not a dinosuar fan, but a friend of mine is...so I googled the least creepy, but still "cool" photo reference I could find. This was his birthday card.
I try to draw from life whenever I can, but I hadn't started drawing yet when I went to New York in September so I had to settle for drawing from a photo.
